has anyone heard of a tailgate skin? apparently you/i can buy a skin to go over the number plate area on the tailgate. so this means wen smoothing your tailgat you would only have to put the skin over and then smooth off, sand, then pain. instead of welding a plate of it then smooothing then painting.

    Anyone heard of this skin?

Yeah you can get them off ebay.

Its better just to buy a smooth fibreglass boot though, or have a plate welded in. It means less filler is used so less chance of it cracking, also lighter.. possibly cheaper too.

i got a smothed bonnet from them and looks amazing unpainted but we had trouble with the gelcoat they use reacting with the high build primer so had to strip all the gelcoat from the outside. should be fine if just painting with waterbased paint tho.

thanks, am still not sure what to do... flushing the boot will cost about 70 quid all together... if i buy a firberglass bott from ccf i will have to get a window putin or have the old one fitted in the new boot and i don't no where to go or how much that will be. i think it will prob be in the 200's... thats painting and fitting and new glass.

still no idea what to do lol
