whine in 4th and 5th

   a friend has a vts box on his vtr
   
   and in 4th and 5th it whines
   
   rest of gears Ok fine
   
   it selects gears brilliantly
   no crunching at high revs or low etc.
   
   its just a whine when at a constant speed eg 5th at 65/70
   
   ive changed the oil to 75w80
   
   and still does it.
   
   any ideas??

   a update
   i checked his lower engine mount
   his car is lowered ALOT
   and its flat at the bottom.
   could this cause the whine??

   his 4th and 5th gears are going. My old box used to whine only in 3rd, 4th and 5th until i replaced the gearbox.

   changed lower engine mount
   and now fine?
