Getting some body work done, Styling help needed.

  1. #1
Hey, I'm going to be getting some body work done on my saxo soon, the list is as follows:
    Black Gloss Bump/Side strips.
    Fogs smoothed over.
    Bumper Wide-mouthed.
    Boot Smoothed.
    Door Badges Smoothed.
    Ariel Smoothed.
    Boot Lock smoothed over.
    Door handles smoothed over.
    Front bumper & bonnet resprayed.
    Tow eye smoothed.

How much do you think this will all cost, and a separate total for the things underlined please

Also, as im getting my boot de-locked and door handles smoothed, what will i need to open the doors and the boot?

Im also looking to smooth over the front bumper strip, and get a square license plate, like a jap style one, but where would be the best place to put it? Where a fog used to be?

its a stupid idea to smooth door handles. door popper are a fucking pain, you'll be forever fixing them just to be able to get in your car
  4. #4
Are they really that unreliable? What about just one for the boot? or are they just as bad?
  5. #5
i can tell you now a bodyshop is gunna want alot more than you think to do this work lol
  6. #6
I've got a price off some one, i think that it is a very good price, so wanting to know what people think it will cost..

what you gotta remember is how oftern do you use your boot and how oftern do u wanna get in your car?
i can say that since my mrs has had her car i;ve been fixing/adjusting the door poppers. they are a nightmare. may look nice maybe a cook gadget but they suck for everyday use.
delock is your best bet to go with if you want the smooth look, but keep the handles

About £400+ for all or about £300 for the others. Just get you door locks smoothed, and the rear lock needs a boot popper

and no one can really say how mush its gonna cost everywhere will be differant. unless your gonna do some of the work yourself it will be expensive as prep to do the work is heavy.

Ahh right ok, i think i'll just delock the doors then, will need to get a decent locking system then, as mine doesnt always work, maybe the battery in the FOB though.

Im tempted to get a boot popper, but just delock the doors. I've got a price less than half of that

I know, you usually get what you pay for, but he's doing it alone, not like in a business.

Well £150-£200 is a very good price but he will barely be making any profit. Its gonna be 20 hours of work. I suggest you give him a hand prepping the car for paint and you might get a very good price.

i would of thought like atleast 600 quid

The whole car bar the roof is going to need respraying otherwise the colour match round the car is gonna be well off. I would expect to pay a significant amount of money to do all that properly, and not just dump a shit load of filler everywhere
