Im smoothing my bump strip and gloss blacking it on my front bumper, smoothing the fogs and wide-mouthing the bumper, I will then be buying a square license plate, but where could i put it, as i dont want to screw it onto the gloss black, ideas?

#2Dont display one lol, erm what about alfa romeo style. towards the side of the bumper. but tbf i dont think would suit
-
#3Im going to be getting a square one, like jap style
-
#4perhaps like DB and have a sticker on the bonnet?
Edit: damn you updating this as i type, in the widemouth then? -
#5Most smoothed cars ive seen just put it in window of have a sticker
-
#6in the widemouth make a bracket from under the splitter and mount it on that and then a take it off for shows
-
#7Yeah, i like the idea of having it in the widemouth, but wouldnt be able to use a square one :/
-
#8license = american term
Number plate = english
!! lmaoo, ermm cant you put it in your windscreen?
-
#9made a braket to one side of the bumper that srews behind the splitter and use the square one
-
#10They both mean the same. I dont want it in the window.Quote:license = american term

I like that idea, not sure how i could make a bracket to do it, but will deffo look into it. Thanks -
#11strip on metal bent around the splitter so two strip on on show on the outside the buper and use normal bumper plate bolts to bolt it to the metal strips or L shape brackets
-
#12Get one of them number plate surrounds spray the plastic to match.
These have holes in to screw to the bumper, dont do that
get some metal strips and make l brackets.
Screw these to the surround then the other part of the bracket under the leadimg edge of the bumper.
Show time its 4screws and the plates gone with no visible trace -
#13Put mesh in a wide mouth and cabletie it on to there

Here? Although you are a lot more smooth than me, but jap style plates only look right if they are mounted to the side though...1 user thanked this post: -
#15Everyone around my area has the jap plate screwed to the side... Am I the only one that doesnt like it???
No offence munkyboy... wasnt aimed at you lol
My mate had his number plate at the bottom of this bumper... looks ok... -
#16Technically, mine is velcro'd!
No offence taken! I don't see too many jap plates around my area, I'm quite unique here!
I think it looks good when its fully smoothed, just need the time to smooth my recess out!
Thats the thing with square plates though, I think they only look good over to one side - I'm not a fan of like the new Hyundai's that have square plates in the middle, looks strange. -
#17Look at my car for example. Mind you my car is actually a jap car so it suits it
-
#19I prefer the vinyl number plater what you can get for sticking onto your bonnet, looks alot betterQuote:Im smoothing my bump strip and gloss blacking it on my front bumper, smoothing the fogs and wide-mouthing the bumper, I will then be buying a square license plate, but where could i put it, as i dont want to screw it onto the gloss black, ideas?

#20But im thinking about going euro, i dont think the vinyl looks that good either.

#21square plates are fail end off, they look shit on a saxo, there for jap cars. Just dont have a plate, if police are coming towards you they have to turn round in which case, you can escape and when there behind your rear plate is fine
