i have recently bought a VTS which i thought was leaking from the rocker covers it seems that it is leaking from the rocker covers but also from the cam ladders below the rockercover! i was wondering what is the best way to re seal them and how to remove them!

    thanks

The rocker covers you cant buy the seals new iirc. Wip the covers off and clean the seals see what the condition is like. Could stick some sealant on with it, tbh they always leak, most people replace them with the plastic rocker covers off the C2 engines.

As for the cam ladders, you need to take the timing belt off. (you could attempt to do it without doing this, but tbh i wouldnt)
Take all of the bolts out the cam ladders, clean all the old sealant off the head and the ladders them selves.

Can get new sealant from halfrauds, put new sealant on and re fit the cam ladders. Might aswell put new camshaft seals on while your at it.

Then you will need to put the timing back on making sure all the timing marks line up of course.

+1 of the above. a friend and i did this back in march for the same reason. didnt take too long to get to and complete. make sure you get like for like cam ladders as i bought mk1 ladders for my mk2, the mk1 ladders dont have the holes for the recirculation system- so i ended up taking the system out afterwards

i use Wellseal on the cam ladders, as they are a face to face fit, could also use the sealer that is used on old Astra/Cavalier cam boxes
