furio same spec as vtr

i know its prob. been covered before but i cant find a decent answer.

will the silver top vtr inlet system fit the furio? im sure somewhere i have read you can as long as you fit the ecu from the vtr aswel.
is the engine all the same apart from the inlet then? and will it get 98bhp with the simple swap of inlet?
  2. #2
I dont think it would be 98bhp but I think it will be a bit more than standard...
  3. #3
different size engine, DONT use the vtr ecu, inlet etc fit but may be a fanny on with plugs etc, slight if even noticeble at all increase in power
  4. #4
i have also heard that fitting th head with all parts inclusive it increases the furio/westcoasts power but not 100% on this.
  5. #5
Changing the inlet to a vtr one isn't going to give you 23bhp no.
  6. #6
i've done it, well i've fitted a vtr inlet on my furio, it does feel quicker and nippier when overtaking in 2nd etc its much more responsive. A very good mod.
  7. #7
not buy a ralye inlet and tb?
  8. #8
However, S1 Rallye head, inlet, cam and ecu however will give you around 110 with breathing mod's
  9. #9
ill just buy anther gti and pay extra for insurance. one more question. why is vts insurance more then 106 gti? same engine and car rele
  10. #10
most likely because statistically the vts driver is more likely to have an accedent.

Citroen did their tests differently to Peugeot which made the vts appear faster on paper and every chav that has ever existed has atleast owned and then subsequently crashed a saxo.
  12. #12
Mate all you need is a vtr inlet with all the sensors and your ready, just bolt on and play.

A raylle inlet is more expensive and as no one else has fitted it to a furio i opted for a VTR inlet as it had be trailed..

    Vts 935Kg
    GTI 950Kg

plenty ppl have fitted rallye inlets to furios
  14. #14
I have an Xsi head that would fit nicely!

Your right in thinking that you would get gains but the furio is a 1.4 and the VTR is a 1.6 so the gains are going to be a lot less than you think.

I saw 115 break from my old quicksilver (same engine as furio) all I did was Rallye inlet, rallye head + cams with a good skim to lower compression, 4-2-1, Decat. Rallye ecu and cold air induction. For 300 quid, and it did keep up with vts's. Iv fitted the inlet to my s2 rallye with breathing mods and a standard vts/gti cant touch it. That inlet is very well designed, by far the best except the dp one, which is nearly as good as having bodies, but thats 800 Euro and would need a remap.

Do you have a rolling road/dyno print out to prove this as its hard to believe 40bhp from that work, not saying its bull.

What cam did you fit? Just a standard rallye ecu?
