Fuel Gauge - New User

    I'm a new user and need some help.

    I have just bought a mint VTS. W reg 2000 60,000 miles etc

    The fuel gauge hasn't changed for a day or to and I've driven 70 miles. How can I test if the fuel gauge is faulty?

    How do I repair this?

    What is the fuel gauge reading at the moment? Full? Half? Empty?

    It is reading just below half at the moment.

    Have you put any fuel in since youve bought it? If not, id put some in and see if the needle moves up at all.

    If it doesn't move then my best guess would be an earth problem as to my knowledge they cause the gauge to hover around the half way mark.

    Filled the car up and the gauge hasn't moved. If it is an earth problem how do I resolve it?

    Do u have a step by step guide? Cheers for ya help

    Are all the other gauges working? Such as the speedo and tacho ... First off try disconnecting the battery for 10 mins as it discharges all the capacitors and then see if that fixes the problem.
