Remap

Just fitted uprated cam's (Kent cam PT11) and a 4-2-1 mani, to my VTR and its not running right, won't idle at all, and has a slight misfire under mid throttle. So does anyone know where i could get a custom remap specifically for that problem rather than just a standard remap, and if there is anoyone near Surrey? Cheers

    Come again...

You've managed to fit a PT11 non-roller rocker camshaft to a silvertop engine with roller rockers?

I don't even know where to begin - I'm surprised it even runs haha.

The silver top engines have roller cam followers whereas with black top engines, the lobe of the cam comes into direct contact with the heel of the rocker.

At a guess, I'd say silver top camshafts have less lift to account for the space taken up by the roller rocker gear. Basically, I'd say the non-roller rocker cam in your silver top engine is giving you far too much lift... valves have probably caught the pistons.

Your only option is to remove the head and see what the damage is. The equivalent roller rocker cam is the Kent PT40 - I found the engine ran exactly the same as it did with the standard camshaft. No remap required.

Yep, if it's a PT11 and your engine is a silver top (V reg onwards), you've probably caused a fair bit of damage.

    Not good.

Does it definitely have the silver rocker cover?

V reg was the crossover between MK1 and MK2, so I believe some had black tops, some had silver tops.
