Hi guys, yet another problem on my shed, probably self induced though! firstly the car was getiing very hot very quick so I did a search on here on what to do - answer seemed to be bleed the system to get rid of air any locks, I did that and now the car doesnt get too hot and the fan works (before it didnt), so basically im wondering whether theres still air in the system which is causing the "sounds like a feckin waterfall behind my dash" or if the headgaskets shagged??? any advice would be GREATLY appreciated, also when bleeding the system I followed these steps: 1) take bottom left rad hose off and drain water/coolant 2) start car up with 3 bleed points open and refill expansion tank using a pop bottle to create gravity effect 3) when water comes out of bleed points close each one, then its done, is this correct? thanks guys ben
Sloshing noise of water behind dash???????

#2does the water sound happen constant ?
Ive heard that sound once in my car but it was just the heater matrix filling up -
#3it goes off after a bit but when I start it it sounds like a whirlpool!

#4Does it happen when you turn the steering wheel??
this happens on mine atm because my PAS pipe is split and im not using anough fluid -
#5My old 1.1 used to do that. Used to do it when I turned ignition off. Covered about 25k miles never had a problem. I think its to do with the heater matrix. Wouldn't worry about it too much tbh

#10Bleed the radiator
-
#11hi m8 its just air in the pipes i had that on my car you might need some more water in the radiator m8

#12Thanks for the input guys, im going to try and bleed it again when i finish work, do you think im doing something wrong?????? (the sledge hammer is ready)
-
#13Firstly bleed it properly by sticking a bottle into the neck of the radiator (upside down coke bottle or similar - seal with a rag - duct tape etc). This IS NEEDED to make sure that you have the water level HIGHER than the radiator and cooling system otherwise it will never bleed up correctly.
Unfortunately if this does not cure the water sound it could well be HG. Do you have any oil leaking above and on top the alternator at all? An oil leak from here is a sign that the gasket has/will shortly give up.
I had the water sound and within a week had blown HG. Hope it's just air for you though mate.

#14had this water noise in my car for ages, can it damage the car if left unfixed??? or is it just something that can be left alone??
