  6. #6
Not sure where the term flock comes from, but its electrostatically "sprayed" onto a surface which has this glue stuff on and then it has to like cure for 48hrs or so.

Someone feel free to correct me.

so what does "flocking" ACTUALLY do? or is it one of those pointless mods that people try and sell for more than its worth on the sale section?

Normally used if the cars going on track i think? Obviously a lot less lightweight than a dash, without seeing horrible wires everywhere if its been stripped? Not sure really lol. And iirc means 'if i remember correctly'

Dear lord i thought this was common knowlege lol.

It's basically a finish you can get put onto your interior plastics. It feels like felt and gets rid of that reflection you get in summer of your dashboard.

Most rally cars will have these. You can also do lots of different colours!

    Hope this helps

Its used on race car dashes to stop the glare reflecting, well thats what i thought..
  12. #12
its also used to get rid of the scratches on your dash when u leave in in the garage ''fu**ing cats'' its good stuff looks the nuts and is cheaper than geting the dash / plastics recovered. its 9 times out of 10 black but u can get it pretty much any colour now.

Originated in Sports car racing and Rallying, as said to stop glare/distraction and reflections on the windscreen from the sun and the moon at night.

Its a coating on the original dash so it wont be lighter

true flocking is a coating on carbon fibre so technically he is right but the ''aftermarket'' flocking can be done to anything so ur right too but your talking grams extra on top of the origional.
