Big induction kit test !

   I have just ordered 3 different types of induction kits & I am gonna test each 1 not on the rollers but on the road using Racetechnology timing equipment on the road.
   
   I am gonna do exactly the same tests to see if there is any noticable difference between them in terms of adding performance..
   
   I will also test the car with the std air box on & then a modified std Airbox with cold Air feed. I just have not got a uprated panel filter to test.
   
   I will also be throwing in a wildcard HKS induction kit from an Evo, I will get it to fit as I have had great results with these on Jap cars.
   
   I will even test the car with the induction kit whacked straight on the throttle body & the car bonnet removed to test if a bonnet scoop would help
   
   Will take a day or two off work in the next week or two & get the job done.

   Sounds good.... carnt wait on the results.. and IMO bonnet vents help. The nova had a scooby vent on before the bonnet i have on it.. Noticed my rocker cover was alot cooler and seemed to be fair power difference as i run my car without a filter

   The test I will be carrying out will be acceleration tests, I will be not doing standing starts at this introduces a variable .
   
   I will test 50 - 70 in top gear for flexability & torque
   
   30 to 70 with 1 gear change
   
   Also 40 to 80 in 4th to see if there is any improvement in low down pull.
   
   will also try 10 to 80 starting in 1st gear (to remove the variable of a standing start wheelspin)
   
   
   Another test will be a general road drive , including a few hills to see how the genrally sound & feel in the real world.
   
   
   The control fuel will be shell vpower, will try to get the tests done on the same day in the dry

   sounds awsome. the winning induction kit will definatly be happy after this test. i presumme sales will be good in he future. which induction kits did you go for?

   im running oem airbox but with could air feed.

    I just need to buy some cold air feed flexy tubing from somewhere & could also test a performance panel filter if anyone want to lend one to me

    wat size tubing do u want? i know a good supplier who does them cheap.
    il be very interested to see the results of this. tbh i think u need to test them on a rolling road to see the real results as i dont think there will be that much diff in acceleration and if u did the same test 3 times u cud get dif results everytime. just my opinion but hopefully we will get some good results that will show a difference!

    I am stopping away from rolling roads for this test as there is far too much left for argument just look at LAD motorsports rolling road for the ultimate joke plus I don't have a rolling road at home.
    I have had cars produce low numbers on rolling roads compared to other cars , yet side by side on the tramac the car with apperentley "less power according to the rollers " just drive off from the more powerful car.
    
    I am just popping out now to collect some more induction kits, I have just won this afternoon on ebay.
    
    I can only try to carry out the test if the results show nothing then ..........
