Back Suspension Making A Bad Noise

    My suspension is making a really bad pinging sound, it sounds like i tight string is being plucked everytime i go over a bump or if i rock the stearing from side to side when moving. and the back left wheel if you kick the tyre on the side there is alot of movement compared to the right hand side.

    If anyone could give me any sugestions its would be appreciated. Thanks peeps.

    sounds like the beam bushes have gone by the movement, it can make the sounds ou mention but more often then not thats due to other issues

    By the noise i would say ARB End Plates but by the movement like said in post above most likely ream beam bushes

    Sounds like the ARB plates as said above with the noise. Take the wheel off, there's a 13mm bolt facing you. Check it's tight.

    Movement sounds like new beam time. I'd get onto the phone to IM Axle's. No point wasting your time with 2nd hand one's imo. They're all of that age and are ready to go.

    Thanks everyone for the info ill check what you have told me to does anyone no of a good place to get a beam? and is it a costly repair?

    IM AXLES sell re furbished ones quite cheap or sometimes the for sale forums on here shouldnt be a huge amount to get it fitted where are you based might be able to help??

    If the wheel has a lot of movement, probably time for a new beam.

    The cheapest option is get a base model beam (with drums) from a scrap yard, hope the stub pins are ok, and fit your VTR trailing arms with new bearings/ seals. Beam would be around £40, bearings/ seals are around £80, then labour costs.

    A fully refurbished rear beam (which has had new stub pins fitted) would probably cost you ~£300-ish, then labour for fitting and lowering if needed.

    Hi saxogal i am from clacton on sea about an hour east of london, and im just going to sell the car straight after the work is done so looking to keep costs to a minimum, cheapskate lol, but will definatley look into everything everyone has said thank you peeps dont wanna get rid of it really coz i love the car but got a lil bubba on the way and need a bigger car, probably gonna get an Audi A3. Any suggestions would be good lol, thanks all
