Start at the traffic lights mate, dont stop till you drive over a young child.
  8. #8
i dont stop for much lol and i have a vtr 8 valve its standard at the moment but just wanted few tips as to what to get first and i've found the stickies now
  9. #9
staight through decat exhaust system, 4-2-1 manifold and strip it out. You'll notice a difference then but really depends on what you want from it.

I would start with air flow and exhaust first mate, best gains for the money... Unless you turbo'in up I wouldnt bother
  12. #12
i was thinking of turboing yes but i have no clue what i'm doing and i want to get the best out of it tranna beat my mate who's just dropped a cavalier engine in a nova and i hate nova's so i would like to show him up

if its to c20xe 2.0 16v redtop 150 bhp engine he`s dropped in (which id of thought it would be)
your gonna have to spend alot of money to get anywhere near him,
pluss i doubt your mate will be leaving his standard,
id say vts conversion, proberly the cheapest most effective mod you can do then you can think of fast road cams etc and smoke him lol
  14. #14
    Marshmallow conversion

i hear to get the most power out of your car you need to do the saxo initiation. drive it into a wall at 70 and if you car runs you gain 500BHP.
  16. #16
then i need the info on a vts conversion!!!! other wise looks like i'm sticking a hyabusa engine in it haha and no i will not drive into a wall lol
  17. #17

Am sorry to sound a prick but.. you've stated i've just bought a VTR but how dod you i make it faster?, already.. your wanting a faster car so my question is to you?.. why did you get a VTR in the first place and pmsl if your mate has a 'Redtop Nova' you won't have a prayer of even coming close to the performance stats even if you had a VTS, i've had a kid on a dual carriageway next to me acting a dickhead and i thought it was just a GSi so i left him and then he must of thought pahaaa idiot and he just left me for dust .
  20. #20
    Nitrous. innit.
  21. #21
    stickys!
  22. #22
i got a vtr as it is cheaper on isurance for me as i didnt have much money and i wanted to get some power if i'm bothered about beating my mate that much i will go out and get a fiesta and drop a cosworth engine in it my main aim was to get the best performance for it as i wanted to keep it for a while

Redtop Novas/Corsas in standard form arent that fast tbh a vts is only 30bhp down on it
  25. #25
I heard if you get some wind deflectors they add 25bhp.. (due to your new aerodynamic capabilities)
  26. #26
well i think am guna get as much out of it as i can and then use my dad's 300zx as its got 650bhp and ways next to nowt haha
  27. #27
    650BHP?!?!?!?!

Got a spec for that? sounds mega!
  28. #28
    yeah i'll post later matey
  29. #29
i think a standard vts againts a standard redtop there wont be a great deal of difference,
it will proberly be the nova that came out on top but not by alot id say,
i can take fiesta st 150`s in my 106 GTI and they not a slow car at all
  30. #30
a redtop nova weighs alot less than a fiesta st dont forget
  31. #31
just do what f1 drivers do and forse him off the road in to a wall and carry on! You win lol

Take out your VTR engine, get a VTS engine and ECU etc. Or Sell your VTR and buy a VTS.

And for the author of this beautiful thread...

Get a VTS engine, cams, Remap, 4-2-1, and youll be happy with that....

Nova Redtops are good cars... easy to tune... Good luck...

Induction kit - (Reccomend the Raceland with the Green filter off Kam Racing, it's good but still friendly on the wallet)

Exhaust system - (Magnex, Supersprint, Saxsport, Sportex etc - Depends on your budget, Supersprint is a great choice for sound, longativity and power increases)

Manifold - 4-2-1 will probably be best, take a look on Kam Racing again, Supersprint, Raceland, Janspeed or Piper. All great manifolds

With the above you will definitely feel a little difference and you could gain UPTO 10bhp
