anything...if your pockets are deep enough!

i know a guy whos got a range rover V8 and is trying to put it in my saxo.
ill let him when i get another car.

*btw he builds range rovers from scratch, abit like " a 4x4 is born" and builds custom ones for off roading! so has designed a custom chassis to fit the sax shell in top lol.

rr right ... what you reckon nissan sr20 lump into a saxo or pulsar gti-r with the 4wd fitted.

The Rover K series is a relatively strait forward fit with most of the parts required available from a late model Metro. The XU engines are also not overly hard to get in there due it it having similar mountings and clutch, gear and throttle operation. If your looking for something a lot more complicated just about anything is possible as log as it fits in the physical size of the car. Though the work and cost involve start getting astronomical if you want to do a good job of it.

I remebr an episode of 'chop shop' where they put a full subaru impreza running gear into a golf mk2 iirc. So basically deep pocket means you can do anything. Somebody on sax-p also put a Evo 2.0l engine in his saxo. The only engines worth mentioning are the gti-6 and the 406 v6 engines

    The 106 engines

anything can fit with enough money/sense

you would need to consider engine mounts, what gearbox and driveshafts to use.

obviously the easiest swap is vtr/vts/gti. The 2.0l 306gti6 engine has been done before but isnt very common. theres also the z-cars conversion where they throw a type r engine in the boot and run it through the rear wheels

so 406 v6 will fit basically straight up..
  9. #9
    not straight up, custom mounts,

    maybe custom driveshafts

its been done on plenty of 205s so try looking through them, it may help

^ Also been done on the C2 with FF layout. Its normally less sophisticated but the v6 would work better FR layout with some custom work

    really would like a v6, drove a 2.5 v6 veccy very quik

    some thing to look into..
  12. #12
The 406 V6 would throw up some space issues so there would still be quite a lot of work to get it in there but you could do it if you wanted

guna do some research into this. starting from tomorro.

    Average.
  15. #15
that 106 is unreal, anything is possible.
  16. #16
nything is possible with the right money trouble is at the end of the day y could spend thousonds and thousonds and end up with what you want and i see it many times people sell up as soon as its finished fed up with it ect ect
i was the same built a tidy corsa redtop bottom up engine was running 220bhp was mental but time i built it i wanted something else lol
just hope if you go down that road you aint the same
  17. #17
Peugeot A18 engine straight fit will need wiring mind you
  18. #18
ah fancy doing some thing on the 106 level
  19. #19
Would an MI16 need custom mounts or would it be an almost straight swap?
  20. #20
    beats me ....
  21. #21
arn't the lupo engines ment to be a pritty straight forward swap?
  22. #22
only lupo engine i would consider is the gti one.
  23. #23
    mazda 323 gt r FTW!
  24. #24
    i know a guy with a lupo gti, it's got a 1.8 20v T lump and currently running 348 bhp ATW !!!
  25. #25
thats in a lupo, that would be shifty
