power steering

   I have an 2002 vts and when i start the car from cold the battery light comes on and the power steering stops working then after 2 mins it comes back on and the light goes off does this meen the power steering pump is on its way out and if it is how hard are thay to replace?

   this happened to my car about a month ago and thought could be pas pump but then around a week later the alternator went on me so could be your alternator on the way out mate.

   i was hopeing some one would just say its a fuse or something. did you have any other problems when the alternater went cos my lights go dim then bright again when im stoped in traffic
