   Thinking about getting a VTR as next car.. Its got 81,000 miles on the clock, so just wondering what i can expect from it on this mileage, when should the cambelt, clutch and gearbox done and should I expect any major problems from it with this mileage??

   Check for service history, cambelt change, rust, condition, under neath bonnet any sign of damage etc

   Check the rear axle for any play.
   
   If there is any play, its fooocked

   Hi Mate
   
   Just purchased 1997 VTR 2 weeks ago and so far have had
   
   New Head Gasket
   Cambelt changed
   New HT Leads
   Rear break pads
   New Cat
   
   New Headgasket,cambelt and ht leads came in at £250.00
   
   Make sure you get a full service history and receipts for any work done
   
   ps going in for new fan this morning.
   
   give it a bloody good test drive and keep your eye out for white smoke from exhaust not just on startup
