saxo wont rev up

   hi there my friend has a 2001 saxo and it wont rev above 2500 revs does anyone have any idea why or has experienced the same prob

   Get him to sit i'n the car and watch the rev counter while you rev the car manually, if it revs above 2500 manually and it doesn't rev over 2500 using the accelerater then the throttle cable will be slack
