Drivers seat HELP!!

  1. #1
    Hi,

This is going to sounds really stupid but I am not mechanically minded at all haha!

Basically the drivers seat runners have gone and slide freely while I am driving. I have took it to several garages and they said I need new runners which is £175 thats without fitting! So ive decided to have a go at it myself but I have no idea where to start haha. Im guessing the seat needs to be taken out completely but what tools will I need to do this? Can somebody help please. I have a Saxo Desire, 3 Door, 2002.

    Thanks

to take the seats out, im pretty sure it's just some torx bolts (same as most fittings on the car), and then i'd just replace with either runners or just new seats from a scrappy, shouldn't be too much.

Just get a new seat from a scrappy

Think it's a T40 torx bit for the bolts

its the air bag light that is attached to the seat belt pre tensioners just unclip them under the seat

to torx unsure on size on drivers side of seat, 2 more near gearstick, and then the airbag clip undernearth, simple as that, ,get a seat from scrap yard say £20 at most, refit and done

    edit

disconnect battery for 5 mins before unclipping
