    i really need help, im a new driver and my 1.1 T reg saxo is squealing i think the alternator is causing it? ive changed it once because it made the squealing noise before, i changed it and it seemed to work for around 2 days and the squealing came back ive tightened everything up and nothing is loose please help me what is the squeeking and squealing coming from my alternator area, its realing frustrating please help me many thanks callum

    Id say your tensioner is too tight. Loosen that a bit and it should solve it imo.

    Are you sure you dont have a warped brake that could be causing a sqeeling i have had the same problem..

    sure bits not the center bairing on ur drivers side drive shaft my vtr does it in wet weather just sumat 4 u 2 thnk bowt matey

    its definatley coming from alternator it happens more when its wet but just squeal alot! its so annoying ill fiddle around !

    You say you've tightened everything up but does that include the fanbelt tension? Fanbelts squeal when they are not tight enough, so that they slip.

    get ur cambelt checked. if its not that and it squeaks when u come off the clutch u need ur clutch done probs

    I had a similar problem with my 1.1 and it turned out to be the fan belt was loose, only happened when i turned on my lights or wipers etc.

    fan belt on a car which has electric fans?? check your alternator belt tension shouldnt have much more than 180 degree bend in it mine sometimes squeek in wet think water just finds its way onto it bare in mind there quite open to the floor

    it happened today in the dry also but was not as load mild queeking every 2 or 3 seconds its very weird

    maybe check the waterpump and idler could be squeeking under load that could be why its intermittent.

    crankshaft pully? mine went other day kept squealing
