Boot build

  1. #1
Hello all.. i made this boot build a few weeks back.. REALLY not happy with it...

    then at night:

I was thinking ditch everything but the 6x9s.

    Buy:
    2 JBL 12'' Subs (1200w) each
    2 Amps (500w) each
    Powercap.
A Pair Of Vibe (250w) each Door Speakers.

    I'll then have..
2 subs each side in boot.
Powercap in the middle of the subs.
2 Amps somewhere (even not on desplay or on fake floor.)
    2 vibe 6x9 (420w) each in P shelf.
2 vibe 6x9 (420w) each into the fake floor.

What do you all reckon... need help.

    Thanks

I appreciate all the work you've put in to it and all that but It just looks naff.

Looks much better if things are not on display or nicely boxed away.

    hahaha fucking hell mate.

You've got a 1.1 saxo you aint going to go much slower, i've got one myself.

Putting a sound system in your car is hardly going to do much if anything performance wise. You'd probably have to be on a track (with a bigger engine) to notice they very slight reduction in acceleration due to the extra weight and the handling due to un-even weight distribution.

Might aswell have some good quality music playing while you're trundling along eh.

Sorry don't know how to edit my post.

Just re-read your post and they don't just make the car slower, they enhance the sound of your sound system.
I don't know a whole lot about it myself but basically inside your headunit is a little amp, this is no where near good enough if you like your music loud and bassy.
Adding another amp, a sub and new front speakers (also maybe 6x9's in rear and tweeters in the front) will allow you to play your music louder without it distorting and blowing speakers and the sound quality will be better, the bass will be deeper etc.

If it's bass you're chasing the get bigger speakers, smaller speakersa distort quicker with bass as they are vibrating alot faster than a larger one would be. Hence why your sub is always the biggest speaker.

    hi...sexo
im having the same problems as you i think...
im making myself a boot build and ive been asking for advise and suggestions and everyone has a different opinion on what is best...
some people are telling me to ditch the 6x9s and i think it sounds like a smart idea as ive read the 'stickies' and it sounds better to have subs with no 6x9s...but this is the reason i think im in the same situation as you...i have 3 11'' subs and 2 6x9s and am in the process of fibreglassing my build...but people are now telling me to ditch the 6x9s and im not sure what to do...confuses the shit out of me mate...
have you made any progress on your build since you last posted?
if so what did you do?
i have pics up if you want to take alook at what i have been doing...ill give you the link anyway mate

I don't have much money to spend on subs and stuff but what you've done there is a good build, you should get 3 different subs tho like top notch stuff because of the build.. 3 jbl 12inch subs or vibe or something.. keep the 6x9s defo mate looks good keep me updated how it goes
