106 GTI engine into s1 106 *wiring help needed*

    Hi guys i just wanted to know if a single plug vts or 106 gti engine will go staight into a s1 106? ive done a vts conversion to my sax but im not sure if theres any difference as the s1 106's are older. Cheers Lee

    i had one, use the 1.1 top engine mount, wiring needs a few mods, not much room for a 16v rad and defo no room for the fans lol mine just had a single 8v fan and it was ok, also gota be careful which 4 branch you go for or the rad wont fit in, fine with a standard mani tho

    when you say wiring needs a few mods what mods exactly mate, its it not a plug and play conversion like the saxo's?

    Not to up on the old 106s but if its anything like the early AXs compared to the late ones then the engine mounts and engine to car loom plug is totally different. Don't know if it is though. What 106 have you got?

    Its a N reg 1.4 thing... just curious as i see people putting gti engines in the s1 rallyes?

    Was reading this on the rallye website about s1 rallye 16v conversions, got a few links that may help. not sure if the standerd s1 106 was the same as the rallye.

    So glad you aren't doing it to an S1 rallye...hate people that ruin them
