Important! : problems with a garage

HELP...Bit of a problem. Had to take the saxo in to have the ns wheel bearing and have the bottom arm replaced to Chirk Service Station on Oak St in Oswestry today. Cost me £300!? I normally fix the car myself but didn't have the time and i needed the car for tonight.

Anyway, driving the car home and the car started pulling to the left really badly... thinking it was perhaps the brakes? got it up off the drive to discover masses amounts of play in the wheel! i have asked a mate who is a mechanic to have a quick look and he thinks the bearing has been put in wrong or just a faulty bearing. Is the wheel bearing under warrenty?

    thanks

take the car back to the garage and explain the issue, i work as a mechanic and have experienced brand new wheel bearing with catastrophic play in them, but have never let a car leave like it, i just press out the new (faulty) one and get the parts company to send us another free of charge, customer is none the wiser. The garage cant (shouldnt) turn you away, or charge you twice as the problem hasnt been solved

they prob didnt realise it would have been fine when put in then generated play due to being the wrong bearing type. they sort it on parts warranty do not let them charge you for it.

Just got it back. Wasn't charged, however it still isn't fixed! No sooner drove up the road and the car started pulling left worse than before. Got it up on the jack at home and it's just the same. I don't think they even so much as looked at the bearing! I recently replaced the shaft and he said it was a bur on the shaft. I'm a qualified mechanical engineer and there was no F-ing bur on the shaft when I put it in! So I rang him and said if he doesn't do it properly tomorrow morning I am contacting trading standards.

    F-ing crook!
