water leak has has left me in big s**t!!

Hi i had a water leak from the terrible weather over the past ten days and was leaking in two places. 1. from the seal on the door which is now fixed.

And the other i have found a messy corroded hole on the inner corner of the sunroof leaking down the headlining and down the dash! It is sealed over now but needs well i think a welding job ASAP! Could some one tell me how bad it seems and weather it will be an expensive or reasonalbe price to patch weld over. as all mods have been put on researve. All carpt is drenched so all out and getting new one. Here is the damage:

Sorry these are upside down but only way to get to it this is the inner side sunroof corner and below you can see the corrosion has messed the innerside of the roof lining

    Thanks

can you not remove that part and put a new one in . i can see a torx screw holding it in on the first pic or is that for somethin else?

No, the sunroof is one unit

oh right. just get it welded up wont take long.

Ah so its doable? cos its on the corner which was my issue. And the torx is for the sun visors mate. How much would i be looking? if i remove the headliner?

Apart from that corroded crack the rest is fine even the passangers side i stupidely put the door frame rubber thw wrong way around which caused a gap

    Cheers

Paint isnt a worry mate as this leak is under the roof lining so the lining covers it but while at it like to upgrade to a black liner

yeah but the weld will warm up and melt/mess the paint up on the roof aswell

When i got my Clio RSi the sunroof just sat in there and wasnt attatched down and leaked badly, so i had a alloy plate riveted to the roof with windscreen sealant.

One thing you could try is, cut away the the sunroof bit and weld a plate right underneath and skim a small bit of filler over the top. Or do any Saxos have solid roofs?

should be an easy fix to someone whos compentant with a welder, cut an patch, sunroof leaks are very common, the rot doesnt look to bad, should check the rubber pipe that drain the sunroof reservoir arent blocked

that tray is removable if its the same as a 106, just need to undo the bolts and cut the seal between the roof skin and the tray, may need to take the sunroof itself out also but its not a hard job
