Aerial snapped

  1. #1
Was about to put an aerial on my car, but have noticed there is a silver block where the aerial screws in. So I am guessing the aerial has snapped off at some point, leaving the stub/connector (?) in!

I only have the most basic tools (couple of spanners, cordless drill, screwdrivers) - so how can I get the old connector out, so I can put a new aerial in?

I realise hardly anybody uses the radio - but I'd like it to work when I get sick of listening to the same songs on the CD.

You need a 8mm socket and a 15 torx fitting

    - Take off screw on sunroof winder, then note position its facing, then pull off
    - Take the two screws that are now visible off from the sunroof winder
    - Pop open plastic cover between light and winder, screw there as well.
    - Pop light away from plastic covering. Unplug
    - Pull plastic covering away from the ceiling of the car
    - Loads of room to loosen the aerial, use the 8mm socket to undo old aerial base, then replace. Making sure you tighten alot, else it'll leak

Afraid not, it's set into the connector - looks like I'll be replacing the aerial base.

put some sillycunt around the base on roof if not it will leak like a gooden

see if your mates have got a tap screw remover to be honest if everything else fails the base is only £12 from a dealer. Why do you have to remove the sunroof winder i just took out the interior light

id probably be more comfortable replacing the base. knowing my luck if i tried to drill it out id probably end up with a hole drilled through roof lol
