Sound locked to me even though you got the barrel.. Stupid question did you get the pick up ring aswell?
Failing that get it unlocked Ryan.......? Does it on here.

If you have no spark and no fuel then the car is immobilised. The fuel system will always prime regardless. You need to check that fuel is getting in. Use a voltmeter at the injectors/injector wiring and see if it is switching. Possibly the ECU is locked out.

A bit of advice for the future. It is sometimes easier/less hassle and cheaper to get the ECU repaired. As a garage owner that is what we always do for customers as you never know what you have bought second hand.

There is no reason, other that a locked or defective ECU, that the car should start.

Are you sure that the car stopped running as a result of a blown ECU. No chance the non-running was a result of something else. I only ask as your detail is a little vague.

im not to sure what has actually happend its my mates car.. all i know atm is that he fucked his ecu , something along the lines off ' he put the batery on charge but forgot to switch from 24v to 12v' on the charger.. he sed the ecu was smoking .. so he got a second hand ecu. key barrel and reader off ebay.. plug it in, now it wont start

    Checked all fuses?

Could of melted a wire somewhere?

If the fuses and wiring (particularity to the ECU) are all ok I am afraid he could now be into testing the engine sensors etc especially if the ignition was on at the time the car was over-charging. Most sensors including the coil pack are rated at 12V but will have a safety factor in terms of over voltage but for a limited time only. At 24V volts any sensors that saw such a high voltage are likely to be burn't out also. Survival of a sensor at this voltage is likely to be zero.

You need him to check for signs of heating in the loom. I would recommend insulation from the ECU connector be cut back to see if any wires are now shorting - do this first.
