Removing Driveshaft. HELP

  1. #1
I've spent the day trying to take my gearbox out so i can fit a new one along with a new clutch.
Im now trying to remove the driveshaft- I've taken the tyres off and the 30mm drive shaft nut, I then removed the the ball joint pinch bolt but now im stuck!

I cant remove the bottom arm that's connected to the hub .

I knocked a flat head screwdriver into the pinch bolt to loosen it up a little then tried to knock it out by placing a pole on the arm and hammering away but that wouldn't work

Any ideas on how I can get it out?
Need an answer ASAP a mate of mines coming to help out tomorrow morning and he'll only be free for a few hours

fork type balljoint splitter will shift it but may damage the rubber boot on the balljoint if you aren't careful

so you cant get the lower arm out or the drive shaft?

lower arm, leverage! and shaft, just pull it...

its nothing other than that tbh....

this may be the wrong way to do it, but i personally jack up on the outside of the disk (where the wheel sits) just so the strut is high enough, then gradually hit the wishbone until it pops out, when it does, the jack will slip off, which is prob why it's a bad idea, but it takes me 20 seconds to get it out

    you want one of these

basically, you hmmer it in to place, and as it gets bigger, it pulls the ball joint out!
be careful as it can/will split your Ball joint.

a safer one is this, but its more expensive.

I managed to get it off by jacking it up like above, then my mate hit the end of a screw driver while it rested on the lower arm and i was yanking it from below

    Reps for every1 that helped
