#2what wheels? condition of them at the moment?
can usually get wheels refurbed and powdercoated for 30-40 per wheel -
#3Depends on a number of things. Will the wheels have the tyres on them... because if so, the refurb company will have to remove the tyres, re-fit and re-balance them.
What type of finish are you going for?
I paid around £140 to have 4 of my wheels re-furb'd. I gave the wheels to them without the tyres and it wasn't a particulary specialist finish. -
#4we would charage aout this at work, main reason is becoz alloys are a ball ache to send down, price wud be more or less though depending on, paint used, condion of wheels and degsin of them, get a pic of them up and will give better idea

#5well the guy i bought them off had tried to refurb them and he bollucksed them up haha

#17cheers mate, i doubt anyone knows a nice place in south wales to get them done?
-
#18you should really do it yourself save yourself a packet and buy something else for the saxo with the money you saved, its really easy tbh
-
#19I still dont agree with powdercoating wheels
-
#20how come?^
-
#21depends how damaged your wheels are.
I have had two sets of wheels powdercoated. The first cost £100 to be sandblasted and then coated. Had some minor curbing, most of which was improved by the blasting and coating processes, could still see a bit of it though
Second set cost £160 - they were done 30 hours after i dropped them off though! they were chemically stripped of old powdercoating then re-coated. They werent curbed at all so came out mint afterwards
If i had wheels which needed fully refurbing - i.e. heavy curbing or damage to the face or corrosion, i would expect to pay more. If the condition of your wheels is good then 250 is too much. They also say they dont repair buckling etc whereas i know someone who had a set of 4 wheels, two of which were buckled, refurbed and straightened then powdercoated for £300
Powdercoating is probably the best finish for wheels. Its more hard wearing than paint, it fully hardens whereas most people who refurb their own wheels dont have facilities to fully harden their paint, and cleaning is a breeze - nothing marks the finish, nothing stains it, any dirt, grime or brake dust just wipes off. Unlike my other half's focus wheels which are painted and are a bitch to clean. -
#22okay got a few pictures off my alloys how they stand, and pretty much all of them look like this,

what do you think? -
#23Have you been quoted this by Laptab?
If so, its worth it as the finish they did on a set my brother had were incredible. -
#24i used Nitromors All Purpose Paint Remover (£6 which saved me £40 + vat to get them sand blasted)) dapped it all over untill all the paints was removed and then took them to get them powdercoated which cost me £100 for all 4 alloys and the finish is top quality
-
#25i plan on taking this project on myself, might as well! i dont even know what powder coating is! screw it though lol the only shit that goes on my alloys is breakdust. but if they get cleaned properly atl east once a week then they should be ok. i have 4 mak 5r's, which are a bit clipped. filler and BOOM jobs a goodn

#26this is powder coat
http://www.finishing.com/Library/pennisi/powder.html
but powder coat is alot better then spraying them it will cost you around £50 for spray/primer/sand paper/stripper and top coat it will cost you around £100/150 for powder coat and will last alot longer and looks better -
#27wheel specialist are very upmarket mate i wouldn't waste your time
they did some wheels i used to have on my Corsa Kawasaki Green and did a excellent job though -
#28alright cheers lads
