Important! : How unsafe actually is a Saxo?

  1. #1
Thread title is pretty self explanatory, so discuss...

Let's say compared to the close competition - fiesta zetec s, peugeot 106 etc.

  2. #2
    Very?...
  3. #3
its going to be about 99.9% same as a 106, as its same chassic...

back end is unusually skittish for a fwd or unsafe as in during a crash? unless its caged and you hit anything bigger than a fat man on a pedal bike your gonna die...

very, just type crash test saxo into youtube lol

crashing a saxo is very much like stepping on a small weak tin can

saxo's are utter useless in a crash unless you've got a huge roll cage inside it but thats not garunteed to save you
  9. #9
You can run over as many poeple as you like and they wont get hurt, the saxo will have a big dint in the shape of a person instead.
  10. #10
Holy shit just looked at the crash test i'm not going over 10 mph anymore lol

Crahsed into the back of a lorry, did this damage, but looks a lot worse than it was, just replaced the panels and unbent part of the mounting for the wings and it was fine

  12. #12
depends on what you are planning to crash into lol.

have a look at some chinese lorries crash test on youtube, they're even worse
  15. #15
with most modern cars being bigger and heavier I would say not too well. It didnt get a good NCAP rating to start with..

the metal used on saxos, or most french cars for that matter, is stupidly thin. An inner wing on a saxo is easy enough to bend by hand whereas most cars need a pull with a dozer. Even the front chassis legs are like foil, when we've pulled damaged ones back to shape the metal moves so easily its untrue

I think this Video should be on the First Post of this thread.

THIS VIDEO Answers the "saxo safety question"

I really don't think of its poor safety record when driving, don't know why, it just doesn't worry me.
