Where's a good place in the east midlands for this or nearby? And what sort of bhp can I expect? I wanna get the same sort of power as a Vts as I miss mine but not the high insurance lol

    just do a vts conversion

    Remap ? £300 min??

    VTS engine ? £200 min??

Hmmmm.... would much rather the 8v's....

8v sucks ass. Power delivery is dull as fuck!

16v is much more fun to drive.

Remapping a 8v with breathing mods is pointless. Putting a high lift camshaft in a 8v is not cost effective compared to a 16v conversion.

Only point in putting a highlift cam in a 8v is to comply with championship regulations. IMO
Know many people who have fitted a cam to their VTR, then drove a VTS and they soon regret all the time and money wasted on fitting a cam to an 8v.

You can buy a VTS for fark all these days, instead of just doing the conversion.

Cheers guys il look into it and seein how much to fit etc

i bought a full vts with rotton floor, 300quid
and i made 300quid back on selling bits of the car

fitted engine myself with a mate

when you get it your best to do these:
    clutch
    cam belt kit
    alternator belt
    service

bobs your uncle, no point modding a vtr engine when vts are this cheap

Indeed going for silly prices online. Only reason i did the 16v conversion was because i'd done a fair few mods already and gold VTS are hard to find..

will a garage or anywhere do an engine transplant for a nice price?
  9. #9
A 'normal' garage probably won't but there's plenty of companies/people on here that can do it. If you join 106owners.co.uk there will be more on there as well.
  10. #10
theres a few people that would do it on here, have a search bud
