can any one help me out??? iv got a saxo west coast 1.4. iv got a over reving problem, i can start it and it will run fine but soon as i touch the throttle pedal it over revs badly and keeps increasing and have to end up turning it off. iv replaced the engine coolin sensor, idle speed control valve and ave taki the inlet manifold off and checked that?? please help????

#2Sounds like you have a serious air leak somewhere. Get the car idling and spray carb cleaner around the engine particularly pipes and joints. If you have an airleak, the RPM will change.

#3thanks for that, i have to take the idle speed control valve back out to reset it,to get it to idle again,iv done the head gasket on it, it was running fine for a few days after,could it be an ecu fault? is there a special way to set up the idle speed control valve?

#4MAP sensor? Unplug it see if its still doing it.. If it is could be that at fualt..

#5if i unplug it, it cuts out. that means the sensors workin ok yeah? i cant think of anything else.it seems to be everytime i touch the throttle the idle valve seems to leave to much of a gap in the throttle body? it doesnt sit back properly when i release the throttle?

#6sounds like air leek on back of inlet check if them 4 green plastic gaskets are in pllace i had same problem changed them and it was fine
