Important! : Help, Just had strutbrace fitted.

Hi guys, Had strutbrace fitted today ( OMP red one ) It fit fine, But now i can hear a knocking noise in engine bay.

Its not touching anything when I open my bonnet. The clearance with things are fine. Would you think perhaps its fitted too tight and i should loosen it, Or maybe its the Bonnet its knocking on ? Or Maybe its knocking my bonnet heat cover. ( the black thing).. I dont know cause i can only hear it when im inside the car with bonnet shut. When it idles its just like a tapping, Gets a little louder when fan kicks in too.

Ive found what its vibrating on myself anyway. So dont worry.

My findings were that if you have an MK2 and fit the red OMP strut brace, ( on my car ) what happened was the standard airbox was slightly touching the bar. The corner of it touches the strut bracea bit and kinda vibrates... Might seem like nothing but when you sit in your car you can really hear it.

What im going to do is either file the corner of the airbox down to give a few mm clearance, OR.. Put something soft and small to absorb the vibration between the air box and strut.

Well.... i think thats it anyway, Ill let you know when i attempt my fix and tell you if the knocking disappears.
