I've got a w reg mines tapered mate. Best way to be sure is have a look.

Tapered mate. Just replaced mine on a w reg vts.

should be tapered, driveshaft nut is deeper on tapered shafts then on flats

should be tappered.
mk1 = flat
mk2 = revised design tappered.
Thats the general guideline but they could be different. Always best to check first if poss
