Important! : Car struggling to start and a water rushing sound

    Hi,

I have an R reg, 1.1 Citroen Saxo.

In the mornings when I start it up it begins to turn over and then loses power. I have to put my foot down hard on the accelerator for it to start and then it will judder for a bit before it is able to drive smoothly.

Another thing I have noticed is a rushing of water sound from behind the drivers side of the dashboard.

Any ideas what could be causing these problems and whether they are likely to be related?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

I also meant to mention that the car has no problem starting in the afternoons when I am travelling home from work, or at the weekends (probably because it has had time to warm up a little)

my boss got a saxo he had same problem the head went on his. does it make a proper bad rushing noise when u clonk it in reverse. or u might have a massive air lock in the cooling system

    Hi Thanks for the reply,

No it doesn't seem to make the rushing noise when I reverse, just wehn I first set off, accelerate and drive around corners.

    Any ideas?

bleed the cooling ststem then go from there might have an airlock does your temp gauge go through the roof?

I have the same problem with the water noise to, my rad is leaking so cooling is crap at the moment. Got new rad to fit later today and il bleed it see if that makes a difference.

As for the loss of power, just let the car warm up so the temp gauge is normal running temp. I also have same problem, warm it up it'l be fine after.

The gushing of water, as said, will be air trapped in the system, bleeding it should solve it
