hi...just wondering if this induction fits a vtr

mainly looking at the length of he bend.

says i may need to modify slightly...and im guessing its to add to the bend.

    hope that link works ok.

i have a similar or exact same system on my 1.1 and it works great.

You would need a silicone pipe between the throttle body and the start of the chrome pipe to get it to fit

those are shit and really make your car die, they get far too much air and hot air at that

    what do you suggest?

for 35 quid or so it looks good.

really dont wna go to the 150+ quid buiseness for an air filter lol

i suggest an uprated panel filter for your standard airbox, best set up tbh, just run a god cold air feed to it, best bang for your buck, the only thing that daft open filter will do is make an noise, it will also make your car under perform

whats the difference between this induction im showing and say like...idk a 160 quid green cotton thing i see being sold?

the 1.1 had the same size cone i think and metal pipes etc. and i been running that for about 2 years and it seems faster.

    sorry if im misundterstanding anything.

green cotton one will most probs have a better weave and induction pipe shape, and will have been sized to suit the engine etc, they get tested, these are just random cheaply made filters that are far too big for a saxo unless running a turbo or someting, belive me mate i hd a saxo with one on, went MUCH better when i removed it, mate recently bought one after i told him not too, hes just sold the saxo to me as he was sick of it, ive now put a standard back on and again it drives alot better, pulls alot harder

with a 1.1 your better off just getting anysort of filter like that tbh, cos lets face it with a 1.1 your not looking for BHP gains just noise, and put the rest of your money to making it handle and brake better for some fun round the back lanes

ye i suppose ur right lol...all i wanted to do was attract attention when shifting down a couple of cogs haha.

    but anyway

at the moment this vtr of mine at the like, small-ish k&n induction...and the cone is battered. my dad said it seems to lag a bit and thinks its due to lack of air coming in?

so...does the size of the cone not matter then?

because compared to my 1.1....its like a 3rd smaller.

i used to have a big open cone on my 1.1 boy did it make a lot of noise but it was less powerful you could feel the differance and not in the good way

right...sorry guys...ad ignorant as i am i've only just read the BIG INDUCTION guide.

this kind is open air filter right? and only is for noise ye?

so im looking for an enclosed kit?

    sorry im inexperienced with this.

how can u tell if its enclosed or not? is enclosed the casing around the filter?

Enclosed is like a sealed pipe, like a BMC, you can get sealed Apiro air filters for around £50. The air intake i have got on my Xsara is, removed the oil breather from the intake pipe, and a 1.5m rubber pipe straight off the throttle body to the front of the bumper, who needs an air filter. Saxo engines aint hard to come by lol. Enclosed kits are good but are better on turbo engines tbf. An enclosed kit is just as good as a standard box with a cold air feed into it. Wrap the exhaust in heat wrap to keep the heat down and raise the bonnet around 15mm
