Respraying bonnet and bumper

  1. #1
    Hey all,

    A mate had an accident and has some front end damage to his Saxo. He got a new bonnet and bumper but it was supplied in amazon green and silver lol

    He wanted to respray this himself just until he can afford a proper respray just yet. What would he need to do this? The car is a posi blue mk2 and we have never done this before!

    Sorry if this has already been covered in another topic!

    Cheers!

    Your car's colour code, this can be seen in the door hinge area, for my old car it was EYCC (Silver) not sure what Posi Blue is. Use this to get the paint..

    Steps;

    1. Primer (2-3 layers)
    2. Paint (2-3 layers)
    3. Laquer (2-4 layers depending on how you want the finish.

    But honestly mate, I can get you in touch with a company that will spray your bonnet and bumper for around £40-£80. Cheaper than you buying all the materials etc. Its kind of nearby you as well.

    I wouldn't bother doing it yourself

    unless you got a compressor and spray gun (as well as some experience) itll cost you about the same to spray yourself as it would to get a sprayer o do it, but youll never get as good a finish on something as big as a bonnet if youve never done this before, its really hard to get an even quality finsh on big areas with a rattle can

    It is based in Wilden, Bedfordshire. Its called Viking Resprays, a number of Sax-P members use it
