De-badge

    Hi

I started to debadge my boot - only the "saxo" - emblem and then I realised wait I don't really know what im doing, I used a hair dryer and a creditcard type tool, removed it fine, and all the glue.

My concern comes here; firstly - two small holes, didn't expect those LOL what can be done? Secondly, very, very, very vague outline of saxo like a age mark that a painting would leave on a wall had it been there a few years - what can be done?

    thanks in advance

The only thing you can do about the holes is to fill them in with something dont really know too much about that, but with the age marks that are left get some T-cut and rub like f*ck and it should come off.

get the hole's welding is best and sprayed and the saxo outline will just buff off but there another option is to fiberglass behind the holes then fill over the front but it still needs spraying to match the car not a cheap job

mate if you want a cheap option for the holes jsut fill with some grommet or something and paint same colour only noticable very close up

I was thinking of doing that to be honest, i dont have the money to get it professionally smoothed!

    What about filler?

    thx

put the badge back on to get rid of both and just paint in the same colour as your car?

i think im half way there to a bodge job, haha! i heard filler is actually an OK short term solution, however over time will crack and fall out. long term solutions fiber glass coin behind and fill it.

Guys check out my progress thread...

you need something on the inside otherwise the filler/fibreglass will just fall out lol

your only options tbh of making a 'good' job of it, is to get your boot filled/smoothed/sprayed (£1-200 job)

or put the badges back on. there held in by pins anyway so just get some half decent glue to hold them on properly. will look better than holes where it looks like someone pikey'd your badges off you lol

I had my boot holes welded and boot resprayed on my old Westy and it cost around £100.

But if you wanna be a pikey like most Saxo owners then you can glue 2p's behind the holes from inside the boot lid and fill the rest of the holes with filler, sand, prime, spray and lacquer. Cheap as chips.
