best vtr exhaust?

    hi im looking to get a new cat-back exhaust system for my vtr, any recommendations? (im a student so nothing too expensive! )

    look up mongoose exhaust saxo or sumit like that on ebay. its a cat back

    aswell try magnex, sportex, milltek...

    there all good makes

    there is no such thing as a best exhuast, it all depends on what the user wants. e.g, loud, raspy, deep, quite etc. need to be more specific.

    best makes for backboxes and systems: magnex, piper, pugsport, saxsport, supersprint, miltek.

    i got piper one m8 amazing sound m8 but dose depend what you like out of an exhuast

    thanks, i've been looking for videos of the different exhausts to get an idea of the sound but they all seem to be decat so they would sound different with a cat wouldn't they?

    p.s im looking for a deepish not too quiet exhaust note

    yeah a cat will make it a lot more quite, decat increase throttle response, and tone of the exhuast, mainly make it more "raspy" cat's are very restrictive.

    i have a piper backbox and decat for sale if your interested?

    might be interested, how much are looking for it? and what is the backbox/tailpipe like?

    I see you have a mk2 vtr. Are you sure your cat isnt in your manifold? You dont really want to be running 2 cats.

    Just get the decat mate. MK2 VTR's have cats in the manifold as standard so unless you have an aftermarket manifold on or are planning on getting an aftermarket manifold it would be pointless

    not sur because its early 2000 so its on the change over, it was hard to find an induction kit for it coz the normal mk 2 ones didnt fit. im getting it up on the ramps at the weekend so'ill have a look

    Ok well unless the previous owner decided to change the whole setup (which i doubt) then your cat will be under the car

    Just get the decat version then when your mot comes up, just swap exhausts? Save a few quid, be better for perfomance and will sound better

    could do but my standard exhaust is a bit shitty, its blowing from a couple of places so i doubt it would get through an mot :/

    Probably be cheaper to get a second hand standard centre pipe/back box/cat (what ever is causing the blow) than getting the sports cat. But its up to you at the end of the day mate

    mate that sounds mint but think im going to go with the decat saxsport and get a 4 2 1 mani at a later date when i can afford it
