Hi all, i recently brought a 1998 Saxo VTR in a sorry state, it didnt start when i got it, so i fitted a new Battery, Starter Motor, Alternator and Crankshaft position sensor. But still she runs for around 5-10 minutes then dies, then runs for 2-3 mins and dies.. .. I am unsure as to what the problem is, the car had a leak when i got it, i was wandering if a leak could be causing a faulty connection, All fuses OK, Battery Fully Charged, and £10 of fuel in the tank. Any replys or help would be very greatful..
Important! : Saxo dies while accelerating, then wont start/

#2Mate ive just fixed his problem oday and all it wa a dodgy eath connection check the thread holding the earth lead that goes to you engine wiring loom. also you see it on the side of the engine block underneath the ignition coil were the HT leads sit. Check that first cos mine was cos it wasnt getting a good earth and kept shutting off the engine. if not it could be a loads of things and the best answer could be to get a diagnostic on it. Also if water is getting into the engine, check the ignition coil is dry and not worn cos it could lead to a misfire or water is not a good conductor of eleci so make sure its dry or the spark plugs might not be getting the correct charge.

#4Hi mate here is the best ive got its directely below the Ignition coil arrowed below you will spot it streight away its attatched to the side of the engine block and is a green/yellow cable and their is two joined together. If still stuck ill take a pic of mine. Check that is nice and tight to the block cos othersise if loose it catches and falls off and that is the moain earth for the ECU if loose tightern it if problem still happens when engine starts up wiggle the cable and if it cuts off your wire is loose so a new connector crimped to the cable and re apply. If problem still happens look all around the engine for earths and check them if still not working get it to a garage for a diagnistic cos thats the only way you will find out. Good luck mate let us know how you get on
