Urgent help please

   just a quick question guys.... if a car is making a sort of ticking... not really ticking but tapping sort of noise... but when i put the clutch in it stops? what is that? is it expensive to fix? cheers people

   First motion shaft is a possibility

   Clutch release bearing.
   
   New clutch should sort it.

   indeed, new gearbox time. Mines done that for a few thousand miles now but its not easy finding the right box.
   
   edit:if its making a noise when clutch is disengaged then its the clutch release bearing but if its making a sound when the clutch is engaged then its most likely bearing on imput shaft.
