Saxo Westcoast 1999 Imobiliser problem and others ??

  1. #1
hi guys have quite a few problems with my saxo,

    1) when i start up my car i have not use 2 keys (one over the top of the other). Now this does nto bother me , its the fact that sometime it takes about half hour to get started cause everytime you start it, sounds like something electrical is cutting the engine out.

    2) Right now once i get the thing started it runs really well, untill i put my foot down on the clutch comming upto a roundabout then it just cuts out. then i have the problem of starting it with the 2 keys again. Is 1 - 2 part of the same problem ??

    3) also my electric windows do not work , and the speedo does not work either.

i have tried disconnecting the battery but it still does the same.

Any help would be great. My car is a 1999 westcoast.

    Thanks guys

Sounds like one key has the immobiliser chip in it, and the other one doesn't, but the other one the right key for the barrel? Does the 1st key fit in your ignition barrel?

Sounds like this is your MAP/Idle control valve - worth cleaning them up/getting them replaced.

    3) also my electric windows do not work , and the speedo does not work either.

Electric window is probably just the switch - try and get another switch or borrow one from another saxo to try

Speedo - theres a sensor on the back of the gearbox which is the speedo drive, check it's plugged in all okay first off.

yea when i brought it the man said he had the barrel changed so the new key with the new barrel needs the old key touching it , also how do i get to the gear box ,

    cheers
