I want the best possible handling,
    got strut brace lowered etc
    thinking of better bushes

but will they make noticable difference?

    also what size 21-22mm?

    01 mk2 vts

Also is it worth getting a griffiths quick shift (cheap and simple)? who got one?

    thanks guys

if you wont the best handling, you need better shocks and springs bigger torsion bars, bigger rear arb ect... but tht added up to over 1k propz... if you just wont few basics go for polyrace bushs all round.

powerflex bush are bit shit to be fair i bought the arb ones as polyrace dont sell them get polyrace for what ever you can as there better and cheaper

Floflex offer a lower priced bush.

ARB bushes imo should only be uprated if the standards are knackard as i don't think they really do alot

its not just a case of bigger this bigger that though

its what you want out of your, what your driving style is and how you want it to handle.

if ya want it to oversteer, yeah stiffen the front a little, and add bigger rear torsion bar, bigger rear anti roll bar and stiffer rear shocks.

if ya want a more understeer/neutral steering, stiffer front end softer rear end set up.

he says he wonts the best possible handling, to get that you would need to have a good firm set up.

yeah, but in proportion telling some one to just go and get a bigger this and bigger that with out telling them the handling effects isnt a good thing.

what happens when he doesnt buy front springs, then on ebay or something spots some thicker rear antiroll bars and torsion bars, comes up to the first corner quickly and he'll be coming out backwards.

like i said, driving style counts as well when you 'best possible handling'. my old starlet had a very stiff front end, with and even stiffer rear end, and i loved throwing it round tracks with a bit of oversteer, i changed the rear springs once and didnt like it all, where as a mate of mine who often took mine out on track if he was there as well said he found it easier to drive with softer rear springs.

Wouldnt bother with the Griffiths quick shift either. On mine and others ive used it felt too clunky and made the gears feel out of place, same goes for the compbrake again it feels really clunky and horrible to use. Only one id get is the B&M qucikshift, costs abit more but feels hell of alot better, just like a normal gear selection but shorter. Personally, i wouldnt bother with a quickshift at all.
