Car's cutting out

   My car cuts out when im idling, or if I press the thottle and let go, the revs drop and engine cuts out.
   
   I had same problem few months ago and cleaned the Idle Control Valve and the throttle body.
   
   But the car was warmed up, and left for an hour and then had the problem.
   
   Will it be my ICV again?

   I don't mean to hijack your thread, but it seemed to make sense for me to comment here as the problems are similar?
   My VTR started cutting out this this evening. I was driving along the by-pass at about 55mph and overtaking when the accelerator suddenly stopped responding, the engine died and the car luckily coasted to a halt. No visible electrical problem.
   Gave it a minute so, and the same happened about a mile later. This then happened several times this evening, including when driving it to my regular garage. AA patrolman followed me, and thinks it may be the camshaft sensor, and to get a diagnostic check done.
   I'm a bit peed off as the car was mot'd three weeks ago, and serviced last week. Then there's the new Toyo Proxes fitted 3 weeks ago!!

   Try your coolant temp sensor mate, can sometimes effect idling

   Not enough posts, and that sounds exactly like crank sensor.
   
   I had exactly the same problem get it changed.
   
   To the op, most likely icv, no harm in giving it a clean

   Yeahh im going to give it a good clean tomorrow. Is there any special cleaning products for it? Or just a wipe down etc and put it back together?

   All I ever did for idle issues with either of my spaxos, was spray carb cleaner down the throttle body with the engine on.

    You'll need to hold the revs up a bit, but that's easy enough
