Ive got clunk can anyone help??

   As the title says it happens when you let off the accelerator and also when I put the car into reverse and then accelerate it clunks. Kinda sounds like the exhaust on the heatshield, but just can't figure out why it's doing it. took it to local garage and they couldn't figure it out either. Anyone any ideas??
   
   Also got a knocking noise which sounds like it's coming from the front o/s wheel but again garage could find the problem. if anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

   Exhaust knocking, Engine mount, Driveshaft, Gearbox possibley?

   Gear stick has a bit of a wobble but nothing that looks out of the ordinary.

   also on the knocking noise from the o/s front, the garage I bought the car from fitted a new cv boot last week, now when I test drove the car a week ago it didnt have the knocking noise, have they missed something or done something wrong when fitting the new cv boot?

   I had this, was the gasket inside the exhaust joint, between cat and centre pipe.
   
   Took this apart, and replaced the bit inside, cured it instantly.

    Well the garage is going to take it back and hopefully fix it, so I'll pass on all info supplied by you guys and fingers crossed they get it fixed.

    i had the same knocking..just fixed it today,it was my driveshaft..get the garage to put it up on ramp with someone in the car,put it first gear with handbreak one and try to take off..should hear the clunk..you can even do it at home

    You were bang on the money there mate the clunk was indeed the gasket joint, and the knocking from the front was a loose suspension strut, all sorted now!

    Been having a very similar issue to this since I had my exhaust changed nearly 6/7 months ago. Been looked at 5 times now by two different places and still doing, have the whole exhaust realigned once - still doing it.
    
    I've also been having a few idle problems, not sure if this is related, idles a little high, but dies down after about 5 minutes of the journey.
    
    Noticed the gear stick shudders a bit when in reverse, doesn't really move when in 1-5 though.
    
    Do you reckon this could be the gasket inside the exhaust as well? Gearbox mount? Something completely different?
