There is, mk2 exhaust has a cat in the manifold, mk1 doesnt.

so does that mean the mark 2 has the round hole with evenly spaced bolt studs(where it meats the down pipe) and the mark 2 has that funny set up where the bolts are set in funny places?

    Is that a mk1 or 2?

    cheers

The MKI and MKII VTS use the same exhaust system.
Both have the same manifold, and both have a cat under the car, the only difference on the later MKII is that the cat has a hole for the second lambda sensor due to it using a 3plug ECU.

Both use the same centre section and the same backbox.
A manifold from a MKI VTS will fit a MKII VTS, the one in your ebay link doesn't even include the downpipe. Personally think thats expensive, usually people struggle to give them away. £25 for manifold and downpipe is what i would be looking to pay.

They only thing i am not 100% on is the length of the CAT, pretty sure they are the same length as i can't see them making the centre sections longer/shorter on later models.

EDIT: Just noticed you said JP4 head, that i truthfully don't know the 100% answer to, i don't know if the studs line up the same as the TU5J4 heads. I know the inlets are different, not sure on the exhausts. Have a search sure there is a thread about using a TU5JP4 head somewhere and how to get it to fit.

    No problem, http://www.saxosportsclub.com/Forums...c/t=24547.html

No mention about the exhaust studs being different on the C2 JP4 head to the Saxo J4 head.
Only a mention of the inlets being different.
