furio to quick

basicly its not really a problem but its too quick will easily stay with my mates vtr and a mates 1.4 xsi , i put a thread up that i might have a vtr engine as a few things seemed odd in the engine bay and now i have found a recipt under the back seats for a kentcam that and a billing sheet for it and fitting to a saxo 1.4 furio but surely not as my car doesnt have a dodgey idle like most cammed cars that havent been remapped ? and i have 283mm brakes up the front gti-6 ones i belive this is all odd to me

i aint complaing at all lol but thats the thing my mates say get it on the rollers some where but its like i dont need to as a furio is ment to have like 75bhp , and the vtr my mates got is the 100bhp one and hes got a supersprint mani and de-cat back system and a raceland cold air induction so hes probs running 110bhp but mine can easily beat it to 60mph and then on probs to near enough 90mph then we stay side by side up to like 115mph (this was done on a private road of course) and even in the bends on the road i can stay like 10 car lengths in front of him and he can catch up lol the rollers shall prove just need to sort it out lol

no i have got v5 saying its a furio ect and took it for a test drive but obiously i did go fast or rag the shit out of it when the girl selling it was sitting next to me lol , i have contacted her about to see if she knew anything about the car being modded and it turns out she had the car for 1 and half years before selling it to me but she was given it by her ex boyfriend when he got a new car so i have come to the concluestion that he obviously modded it some how , the car is all clean and new parts ect and its got a service history from citroen from the day it was bought new on the 20/09/00 till 02/04/08 so its not dodgey ect everyone who has looked over it even when i bought it i took a good friend who has his own garage and been in the business since i was born lol so who has ever done modds like the 283mm brakes , cat back powerflow system and powerflex engine mount gearbox mount and other front and rear powerflex bits too so its been done to a good standard .

Probably is cammed then mate, or a VTR engine.. Possiblly a VTR that's cammed

You wouldn't put, or need 283mm brakes with the standard engine. You'd only do that if you upped the power.

well thanks to all the guys with help but was having a look through a folder that i got given to me with the car which contains , previous m.o.t's , tax discs , repair bills , different receipts ect and i have found a invoice for a newman ph3 cam for a silver top furio/vtr ( mine is a silver top furio ) and then was having another good look after that and found 3 seperate bits for a bill for a new cam belt , service and fitting of a performance cam so guessing this is it lads and just been speaking to a girl who knew the lads who car in was before he give it to the girl i bought it off and apparently it did have a newman ph3 cam fitted and she said it was dyno'ed twice at different car events and it made like 105bhp but i have no proof which is shite so deffo still gotta rolling road this

well i have always thought it might be a vtr engine but i have looked up the ecu code ect and its for a 1.4 8v but surely if its been unlocked or whatever it could run a vtr engine to this power ect , but overall i am pretty happy anyways as i got my 2000 saxo furio with 76k on it with a cobra custom cat back exhaust and has de cat (which would explain why i got given a spare cat obviously for m.o.t's ) very clean inside just a dent in door , and ph3 cam all for £650 with a brand new m.o.t but only a months tax good buy i reckon lol

has it got the dipstick to the right side of the block or the left?
if its the right side its a furio if its the left its a vtr engine

seems like a good bargain hahaha the cam is worth what 300 quidish

there is a thread on engines on here have a seach think its in one of the FAQ's maybe newbi section that has pic of all the types of engines
i.e grey top black top VTR's etc this will tell you if your running a vtr or furio engine

furio = dipstick on right
VTR = on left
VTR's have dipsticks on both sides depending on the engine lol

^^^ thanks for that bud as it looks now like i might have a silver top 90bhp vtr with a ph3 cam instead of my lil 75bhp furio i thought i bought lol well thats good lol still a furio on log book so someone has done a pretty good job as it doesnt look like its ever been messed with ect

Yep,there is no way a 1.4 Furio with just a cam would easily beat a Vtr with breathing mods.

drive at 70 and does it revs its tits off??? like above 4k if so could be a 1.1 gearbox but sounds like you got a bargain dude
