why?

   got dicked by a s2 rallye the other day why was it so much faster than my mk1 vtr? what can i do to kick his arse?

   who says it had ans s2 rallye engine? and an s2 rallye should be quicke then a mk1 saxo tbh

   it was an s2 rally so would have an s2 rally engine! this went like a fucking rocket and sounded like a f1 car?

   Yeah, that's the norm, but whats stopping him putting another, more powerful engine in?
   
   Unless you pulled over and said "hey mate, pop your bonnet, I want to see what engine you've got", you have no way of being certain.
   
   And if it " sounded like an f1 car", then surely its not standard at least?

    its a rallye, its going to be quicker than a vtr
    
    more powerful engine
    
    shorter ratio gearbox
    and by the sounds of it, modified. so what sort of chance do you stand? none. lol

    He has 13bhp more than you standard, add a couple of modifications (Good exhaust system, improved induction system) he could even have upto 20bhp more than you, also shorter ratio box = Faster acceleration, the engine may also have less miles and been better looked after, could also just be a better driver on top of all that.
    
    Get a VTS engine, add better exhaust and induction system, shorter ratio box and chances are you could beat him, but you really don't know how hard he is trying or what he really has under the bonnet.

    Basically s2 rallye is just a much faster car
    
    plus the amount of rallyes with a 16v dropped in is rediculous (of the 3 rallyes in my town 2 are 16v)
    
    basically unless you spend a lot on your vtr or get a faster car if you want to 'kick his ass'

    promise you there's a 90% chance it had a 16v as it's what everyone does mate.
    
    most the s2 rallyes around are built really well and far from standard spec
