cant get 1st & 2nd

    all good and well till i stoped at traffic lights and could'nt get 1st or 2nd, it will go in but there just seems to be nothing there any ideas......... please HELP thanks

    Does it actually engage? What do you mean "nothing there"? Can you get (engage and use) 3rd and 4th? Might be an issue with a selector rod.

    yes i can get 3rd & 4th, when i put it in 1st n 2nd it goes in but i end up sat there reving with no movement if you get me lol and also when its in 2nd if i move the stick back an forth i can hear it tapping on metal........ sorry i aing no mechanic ! hahaha

    search for a wobbly gear stick there will be some photos of ann the linkages involed and check them all sounds like your selector arm might of come loose check that first

    yep sounds like selector linkage arm has popped off the ball. hopefully just linkages need replacing - nice and cheap

    thanx guys, im at work tonight so will get it jacked up and have a look at linkages, will let you know what it is when i find out, thanx again

    Had someone look at it today and they said i need a new gearbox......... FAIL !! lol
