    Thinking of buying a 106 gti engine,box,ecu and wiring loom. Trouble is it's off a an r reg and my vtr is a 2001 will it be ok to fit straight in?

    No gti Engine fit into any 8V car without some wiring.

    You really should think about things.

    Things like ABS, Driveshaft threads. Wheel bearing ect are always overlooked.

    You will need a custom loom making up. 16V loom matching your inner wing wiring. or splice it.
