Damaged saxo needed

    Ok I think I need help....

    I have a Y reg (2001) saxo 1.1 desire 5dr.....

    Anyway it seems things are going a little wrong in the engine, in June I had to have a new clutch (in the gear box) and now it keeps stalling is either reving too low or too high!!!

    So my dad suggested we buy an accident damaged Saxo that has a good condition engine and we can just use these parts as it seems I am going to have to spend a lot of money on parts.

    Firstly what do people suggest
    Secondly does anyone know where I can get an accident damaged saxo from?

    check ebay, you can generally buy just the engine, or engine and gearbox in one unit, if not try www.partsgateway.co.uk , tell them what you need and youl have a quote by tommorrow, and they deliver

    also if its revving up and down, and cutting out, have you tried cleaning the idle control valve, it might not be down to the clutch

    How often should I idle control valve?

    We cleaned it last year and then not even a year on its doing the same thing.

    I dont think its related to the clutch just expense all the time

    its common for them to play up as they get blocked up with carbon deposits and general dirt, can expect to clean yearly to be honest, but just clean as often as required, i use carburettor cleaner and once its clean i spray a little wd40 inside so it moves freely, give it a try

    also is your engine management light on your dash luminated ?

    Ok thank you, I will try that again, maybe that will sort it out.....

    No I dont have any lights illuminated on my dash board, except the ones that are meant to be.....

    Just a possibility could it be the lambda sensor as the last 2 mots its only just got through on the lambda emissions.

    I hope not as I have 2 on my car for some reason......
