abs light staying on always? diagnostics

    i did the resistant test
and found one which was 1600 ohms
so i changed it to a 1000ohms one.

my abs is still always on.
when ignition it doesnt turn off after 4 seconds just always stays on...

    ideas?
does it need to be drove a good amount of miles?
or need to be removed diagnostically?

Check for continuity(sp) to the abs module if you have already changed the sensors if they are ok then try a diagnostics machine. If that still doesnt cure it then unfortunately your looking at a new abs module.

If all sensors are good, the light will go out by itself. Check the charging voltage; if it is too low, ABS light will not go out.

they should read 1600 ohms or around there stick a 1000 ohms in would make it worse, check them all from the plug under the abs unit under the bonnet this runs out any breaks in the wires back to the abs sensors and no you dont need to drive far for it to reset I did however unplug the battery for a few mins before driving it around the block but mine went off before I got off the driveway.

they work when the resistance is between 1000 ohms and 1100 ohms

not 1600 that usually means there out
all my readins where 1000 to 1100 par from drivers front
which i changed and now im getting same reading throughout....

heres a picture from another forum unless u've already seen it http://www.saxosportsclub.com/Forums.../p=937434.html

And apparently they should be 1100 ohms :/

a higher ohm would not cause a problem its below 1000 that would cause problems.

mindya saying that it would still be out so I retract my previous post. Dont sure where I got 1600 from but Im quite sure my brand new sensors where higher than 1100 ohms shall have to check

    hmmm,
going to get it on the diagnostics and go from there. ill let u know how i get on
but all my resistance measurements are basically the same lol

Will probably need to take it to Citroen mate - OBD2 doesn't diagnose ABS faults.

Were you checking the resistance using the pins on the plug behind the battery?

When I replaced a dodgy sensor on mine, I only had to drive a few metres to the end of the street before the ABS light went out.

my obd2 reader from my 3 plug dont work on my single plugger gay.

it should do on his! lol
i drove down street and it didnt change....
    and yep checking resistance there.
but i havent drove the car for about 1 month so could be the battery? but doubt to be honest!
not sure what else it could be to be honest

If all four sensors are reading between 1k and 1.1k ohms and light is still on after driving a mile or so, must be something else causing the problem.

Not sure whether it can recognise stuff like a dodgy ABS pump etc.

EDIT: Is the car a single plug? If so, the pins are different.

    yep single plug
my ports are like the post on ssc(first post mate)

Ah right, must be MK1 and MK2 ABS wiring that differs rather than single plug and 3 plug.

If the sensors are ok, I don't think I'd bother with the hassle of changing the ABS unit. Junk it.
